I have been matched betting for 3 years and my accounts are now heavily restricted everywhere. Is there any point continuing or should I focus entirely on casino offers which cannot be gubbed in the same way? What does the community do at this stage?

Casino matched betting requires much more discipline than sports. The variance on casino qualifying bets can swing your monthly results significantly. Stick to lowest variance games for qualifying and treat casino offers as a bonus on top of sports matched betting.

At the heavily gubbed stage the practical options are: casino offers, price boost offers, each way sniper offers, and accumulator insurance offers. Account longevity is worth more than maximum short term profit.

Gambling winnings including matched betting profits are not taxable in the UK under current HMRC rules. The classification as gambling rather than a business holds even for people making significant sums consistently. This has been tested and remains non-taxable.

The biggest mistake new matched bettors make is being too greedy early and gubbing their accounts. Use accounts sparingly, mix in mug bets, spread activity across different sports and bet types.
